OPELCO – Mosquito Pass Cable Conduit Installation

Working as the prime contractor, we completed a 2000 LF rock bore beneath Mosquito Pass from San Juan Island to Henry Island, utilizing our Universal 250 X 400 HDD unit.  Pilot-hole construction utilized a 6” mud motor guided by a GYRO locating system.  Rock reaming equipment was utilized to size the bore hole for the installation of an 8” conduit.  A unique approach to drilling fluid management and disposal was used.
